Knocking On The Doors To Heaven

Knocking On The Doors To Heaven

A Poem by Lendura
"

A certain view of heaven

"

Knocking on the doors to heaven

No one to open up

To check for my name on that golden list

There's no door bell

Just three stone steps leading up to a door

And I'll just keep knocking for eternity

Sitting on the stoop to heaven's door

Waiting for the big guy to take my hand

To lead me to the cocktail party

Where I am sure to find myself

Mingling with Egar Allen and shakespear.

But no

I am just sitting on a step to heaven

Looking down through the clouds

At earth and it's life

From miles up like a lackluster star in the sky

Cause no one is answering the door

The music is just too loud.

Priceless! OMG That is so perfect!
It's so blunt and carries a serious meaning to it, but one can't help but laugh at the overall image.
I loved the last line! That's what got me rolling of the floor laughing!

Maybe it's time humanity turned down the volume on whats beyond and turn up the volume on what we as a people should do today.

Great Write!

I liked the ending, the idea that the things some of us disliked on earth are no more perfect in heaven. I like the ability to interpret the different settings that might be above us.
Not bad, indeed. :)
