This Town

This Town

A Poem by Lendura
"

A true piece from my heart.

"

I am leaving this town

I won’t miss the warm smell of pine

That surrounded this house

and I don’t care if I never met my neighbors

I won’t miss those train tracks that made me late

Or the two gas stations at the entrance to the town

Even that pizza place whom was the only placed that delivered

There’s just not much to this town

Like a cage to a bird

But you almost makes it live able

Never know who lives on the next street

Someone that could grab your attention

I’ll say this with the deepest words

It took me three years to find you

And the time couldn’t be worst

For it’s time for me to leave

To breath the air of a city I long for

I’ll write and you could come stay

In my house

That is surrounded by the sweet sounds of traffic

For the city life is for me

But you make this town almost live able

"There's just not much to this town

Like a cage to a bird"

I feel like a transition was missing here.

Plus I would like a stanza break in parts of the poem. It would help separate the ideas.

Otherwise, lovely lovely, it presents the pretty image of the lovable small town that some people just don't like. It isn't necessarily your fault, it's just the way it is.
Lovely.
