Time

Time

A Poem by lenamari

There will come a time,
when love will not fight chains,
and you'll fly birds in your mane.

Pondering minutes,
because the nights are long.

You tie your laces to the lost memories,
and the little kids,
grow up, and lose their leaves.

There will come a time,
when your skins rots away,
and we'll grow young together
every day.

I don't know how to feel about this poem. The second and third stanzas are interesting, but I can't follow the poem as a whole. The line "and you'll fly birds in your mane" makes no sense to me. The last stanza is very unexpected as I don't consider someone growing young over time.
