You

You

A Poem by lenamari
"

This is not about anyone.

"
My bones ache and rest,
I want them to grow on you.
Crack your window a bit,
I want you to hear me calling.

When we lose our bodies,
Animals will drink from our skulls.
Breathe in the air,
And keep me warm when I'm scared.

I want you to touch my hips,
I want you to kiss me silently,
You told me to take your hand,
We dove off the edge.

Water and bones collide,
Now we live inside our minds,
We lay floating still forever.

I'm not the biggest expert on poems, but that was pretty deep, if one can grasp the deeper understanding in your wordplay. I admit that I had to re-read this a couple of times to grasp what it was you were trying to portray, but I have to say that it was pretty good.

This has impact, there's a ghostly beauty to it, but the frankness in it's wording gives a contemporary feel,

Really nice, I'm still working through the images, definitely love to re-read this, nice piece.
