Golden Rule

Golden Rule

A Poem by Lemus

My timidity has reason for making me the way I am.
I’m quiet with intent because my yells would haunt you, my thoughts would sicken you,
and I would tear you apart otherwise.
I am not special,
I am merely capable because I’m only human.
Don’t be duped by false security:

I’m meek for your benefit and mine because I know that my collapse would bring endless misery upon me.

Don’t be duped by false security when I hold you and you sigh a little breath of relief to a man-sized teddy bear. I would gladly drop a pretense if only I was allowed.

I'm 16 and I've wanted to write for a long time. Honestly I'm somewhat frightened by public opinion. I feel that if I just sat down and tried to write something, something would come out and that woul.. more..
