Solace

Solace

A Poem by Leo Elderkin
"

Prosaic homage to a lost friend.

"

on delicate sound of rustled leaves,
as time ebbs nigh away,
willow boughs beckon in the softest cadence---
like tendrils of sleep soon promised/

in kept treasures silent wonder
that sway in tender houred bliss...
the eventide comes as reward.

Farewell, Jimmy. You are loved
