Rust in pieceA Poem by Leo ElderkinA poem about a man writing a billet-doux to a woman that goes unanswered.Rust in piece
"...Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear..."
step through unbridled vortices; the maelstrom, deservedly your art, as it is strewn ( carelessly )--- in a wake of indifference.
you'll
of beauty's overthrow, nor a downwind lean into the depth of her heart; she's now but a rapidly vanishing ........
afterthought.
your white-knuckle escape [as your rearview rushes to empty]... a timeless failure.
This single bullet---> dispatched upon the eolian of thought---> spirals
time distance down down ( in color slowed ) it's hue in rust--- weblog dust.
... an unfortunate sleight. I am unworthy; a withering wind of blowing apology... ransomed in digital mayhem of afterthought.
"... but you--- you're not allowed. You're uninvited, an unfortunate....sleight..." © leo elderkin 2013 © 2013 Leo Elderkin |
