LOST

 

That day 

my heart grieved 

for my soul had departed me 

 

Freedom became my own cell 

and my heart shattered 

 

as I watched 

Me 

luring the darkness 

 

the path was no longer there as I looked back 

I was lost 

 

like a shadow in the night 

begging for a light 

a glimpse

I very much like the 3/2/3/2/3 pattern that the verses are set up in, adds little breaks in thought and makes for a more stunning visual. As for the poem I found it the perfect amount of darkness
