WHERE HAVE YOU GONE

I waited for so long, 

Kept the promise we both made. 

With tears in my eyes and fear in my heart, 

I let you go to find your life afar. 

 

From that moment we said our goodbyes, 

Hope became my guardian to this fear of losing you. 

I hold on to your promise and I waited, 

And waiting for you to come back. 

 

Days became nights, and the rain has gone, 

Time is taking you away little by little. 

Where have you gone? 

Now I am starting to forget...

Makes me think of a note from a soldier's wife to a soldier off at war. The longing in these verses are painfully clear as is the slow dull that it brings overtime, nicely written.

This poem is haunting and shows the selflessness of loving enough to let go. In the end when you allow yourself to love you truly are standing out on faith.
