I PrayA Poem by Rachel
I pray for the day someone's eyes will light up when he sees me
Like his does when she walks into the room How lovely it would be the day when the mere sound of my name makes him smile And his eyes will glow like the brightest moon in the darkest skies I often wonder what length I'd have to go to To attract his affection, his attention, what would it take to be his muse? I've learned from experience Prince Charming doesn't come out of thin air There are no fairy godmothers There are no potions, there's only me and luck And I'm realizing each day that being locked in a tower is not the way to win him Someday, I know, there will be a him Whose eyes light up like the stars when he sees me Whose face looks like an angel has kissed it when he speaks my name Who will whisper in pure astonishment "you amaze me" How wonderful that day will be Maybe it all starts with a smile So next time he smiles, I'll smile back
