Closer to Home

Closer to Home

A Poem by LeGingersnap

Your love is a candlestick
It drips pure and true
But the flame never extinguishes
Even when the worst of winds blow

My heart is out at sea
Beckoning for a shore,
A home

You are kind and patient
I am faulty and hasty,
Quick to destroy

Deserving or not
I am thankful

Extended from your callus hands
The hope that keeps me afloat
The air that drives me closer

Closer to home

It's good, though I feel that the penultimate verse feels incomplete, I feel that it should have been like its predecessor, it would have given the poem a better flow.
