He Sits Comfortably

He Sits Comfortably

A Poem by Leesah

I sit nervously by death

as it is coy in patience,

a fated blur of thought

rushes in mind as if

he scrolled the way forth..

a timely conviction of things

perhaps life is just that

an admonition of dreams

already abided...

and he sits comfortably

always, like he does

to make eyes wider,

more receiving to live

these are words to read in hushed tones lest he hear.Your personification works exquisitely here. I love this.

What a strong thought provoking piece...............sitting close to death who is of course comfortable
in waiting..............striking read......and i loved the last lines.

Beautifully written. You know, I feel much better knowing that no-one can out slick death, or in someway out smart it, decieve it into passing us bye. Then I would be consummed by ways to avoid it. Now ? It's like..live your life, dance when you can, and just accept it as a beginning to something else. Great write. Rain..
