I wrote this poem during a time where my husband and I were going through hardships (financial) and I was at a lost. My great- grandmother spoke to me and said "Keep living, it gets better'.
This Morning My
Spirit Cried (true story)
The
cry was silent, enough for me to hear-
But
strong enough for God to feel.
This
morning my spirit cried;
I
felt my eyes getting teary.
My
spirit said “God, my body’s getting weary.”
I
felt these tears steady flowing-
By
my faith, MY faith kept on holding.
It
wasn’t pain, fear, or doubt my spirit possessed,
It
was the cry of a spirit that wanted peace and rest.
life gets as good as you let it get...you can be a decent person...do for others.. treat people with kindness ad respect...and enjoy what you're doing either at work or raising a family. Nothing is easy nor did anybody promise it would be...but if we can see our way through and make a difference then our lives have purpose and meaning. I think this is what your great grandmother was telling you.
Technically, your write lacked a bit of rhythm or flow for me. Perhaps due to your erratic rhyme scheme or meter. I'm not sure. That is not to say I didn't like it...I did. Your rhyming, especially near or slant rhyming was rather impressive and I think I was trying to read to my beat instead of yours.
Anyway, terrific write Lee. Your great grandmother would be proud.
Hope your hardships are over and far and few between

"Keep living, it gets better." That's very close to what my Guardian told me so many years ago. And, she's right. Even after the most violent rainstorms you are granted a wonderful rainbow. Hold out, be patient, sit tight, and hang on. The best is yet to come ... :)

Feel free to download my Keep Living, It Gets Better e-book that is now and will be forever free...
I know that this book is and will forever be the favorite book I will publish. So since it is so close to my heart, my husband and I decided that we should make it free so that there is no barrier to prevent it from being close to the hearts of others world wide.

It's getting harder and harder to find media like this with corrupt companies like iStockPhoto clearly taking over the commercial world. However, you are more than welcome to use any of the images you find HERE or HERE:
A FREE STOCK photo is an image you can use for any purpose including commercial, provided that the IMAGE itself is not the major part of the presentation (T-shirt, Poster). Your poems are the primary part of your book, therefore you are welcome to add these images. Always read terms of use but I know for a fact WikiCommons relinquishes total copyright from their images, it's just a little harder to find such. For instance, this image below is completely up for grabs, even to making T-Shirts and posters with it:

Hope This Helps !

Yes....very much true....When Holy spirit steps into our life, we do enjoy the overwhelming peace that surpasses all understanding....No wise man can explain that peace.....

What an uplifting, honest, heartfelt poem that will give hope and inspire many others in difficult times, which all will go through at some point in their lives.
I more then LOVEEE this. It's truly beautiful and is so positive. I love how you feel the sad but it is quickly replaced with faith :) “keep living, it gets better.” "The cry was silent, enough for me to hear-
But strong enough for God to feel." So amazing
I can totally relate to this! Sometimes you really need something more than stress balls and good food to make you calm. Something only the Holy Spirit can give!
It's cool that you can talk about God so easily and without fear. "Keep living, it gets better" is a pg-rated version of one of my favorite sayings, which is "Keep f*cking going." I love it.
