I Hunger

I Hunger

A Poem by Lee Wilson

I hunger for loves wonders,
but none see me for there
eyes are focused up on gold
and silver,

I hunger for kisses that are
like honey but only have
stings of  lies and deceits,

I hunger for a tender heart,
and yet only find hearts of stone
and obsidian

I hunger for love in simplicity
but it is an illusion,

For there are none that can remain
true, there are none that can remain
faithful

So to my grave with this hunger will I go,
For if you gaze up on riches and wealth
it is you who will be left to hunger
for in the end my hunger will at last
be satisfied,
