My Son

My Son

A Poem by Lee Wilson
"

As a new Daddy, I am relearning the adventures of child hood play. Among the remembrances of curiosities long since past. I am also reminded of the old Biblical saying, "We are like Children unto God"

"
My Son, How I look up on you as you gaze at the world so large and full of wonders,
Every Daisy you meet is plucked up in curiosity and dissected,
How a nose becomes an object of your amusement ,

How every thing you grasp and touch becomes yours as you whale in complaint when taken from you,

How you walk on those tiny feet is beyond me,

Your smile warms the heart and soul like the summer sun warms the body,
and your hugs makes daddy feel better even when he is not feeling well.

Yes, Indeed you are God's Gift unto us.
Yes, you are our Angel ,
Yes, You have touched my life is a way that no words could ever be spoken.
Finally God has given Me a true and wonderful gift.
And that Gift is YOU Patrick Wilson.

Author's Note

Lee Wilson
I just returned from a 2 year leave and though not feeling well from diverticulitis, I figured I would give it a shot. My fiance and I have a Son, He also has PKU a rare metabolic error in which a person's body can not tolerate high amounts of protein. If they get to much, they can have serious damage to there brains which they can become intellectually challenged. So for Dania and I, when our son is doing something new and wondrous, it is a great joy because we treasure the simple things that Patrick accomplishes. It lets us Know that his diet is working well.
