you planted a garden in me

you planted a garden in me

A Poem by pressedflowers

you planted a garden in me
a would-be god
full of hope
of what could be

and after:

(be my sun be my rain
sustain me
keep me from withering away
i am not sure i can do it alone)

you planted a garden in me
watch as it grows
are you surprised to see
the vines spilling over
patches of weeds springing up
not what you expected

(and you, what will you do?
stand there and observe
an experiment
which parts will flourish and which will decay)

did you find what you were looking for?
when you planted a garden in me
