I held onA Poem by pressedflowersa work in progress
I held on as you led me on
quietly without remorse all this time you knew all I wanted was to be wanted by you inexplicably without force it came as natural as the sun rises and falls and now exists as a door slamming shaking the walls I held on as you called me names and made me feel small thinking that true love takes work takes effort, takes blame, takes a toll takes and takes and takes until you break unrecognizable to the reflection staring back at you.
