Vacancy

Vacancy

A Poem by Anu

Sense the emptiness,

it can swallow you whole,

only leaving you to grasp air without prevail.

Concrete sidewalks

turn transparent,

helium balloons

no longer float.

Without a here

or a there,

and nothing in between.

Hallow seashells

will never make a sound,

rushing tides

promise no direction.
