AngerA Poem by leatherandlaceA momentary bursting flame...that causes damage. It boils inside you, the steam fogging your vision. It bubbles and burns, scorching your heart until it breaks apart into hard chunks of coal. You can feel the heat spill throughout your body; fingertips tingle, your stomach churns and gurgles, your head spins in pain. But the trickling burn continues to pulse throughout you; sizzling your blood and blackening your bones. You grow red and hot enough to make hell's temperature seem pleasant. Fire spills from your throat, your tongue lashing flames out like whips. You hear only the white noise and your eyes see only outlines of crimson. Your compassion burns out and you stab out with your voice, brainding their minds with your heated hatred. It's only afterwards that regret washes you cold and shiver and chatter your teeth; the cool splash of realization washing the last of your burning embers away. © 2011 leatherandlace |
