I'll OpposeA Poem by leatherandlaceWe are the girls not to be pushed down.Like a b***h, you will command me to stay but stillness and I have never been well acquainted. I will walk onto the lawns and paw the grass, but you can't make me stop without a leash. I will track mud throughout your mind and take up room on your bed; I was never respectful of rules. I'll drool and I'll growl, because you expect my mouth to be dry and my voice to utter quiet whines. I won't eat the food you provide but I'll take the food from your plate, and when I am punished and cast out into the cold darkness, don't expect me to beg for forgiveness. I'd rather endure. When you call for me, I won't come and when you pull at me I'll oppose. You want to groom me and cut the tangles from me, but you'd never find the patience. Instead you will abandon me, a lost cause, a cast away, a mutt, and still I wander where I please. untrained. © 2011 leatherandlace |
