I Walk with Fire

I Walk with Fire

A Poem by surething
"

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk with someone polar opposite of you?

"
I walked the thin line of ice
One too many times.
The passion that I held for you
Faded just as the ice did that spring.

The ice froze my soul
As the sun thawed yours.
You found another flower to buzz around,
While I found another flower to cover in snow.

You would tell me, at night,
“Its okay, its only a bit cold”

While it was -30 degrees outside.

You used to be okay with everything.

I walked the thin line of ice
Yet you walked beside me.
No matter what the circumstances,
You were my fire, and I was your ice.

I like how in this poem you show how fire and ice have both good and bad qualities. They need eachother to be evened out. Being ice is not good if there is fire to warm it and vice versa. It's an interesting way to write about a relationship. =)

as Frost wrote...will the world end with fire or ice...i like your use of the fire that helped you walk that thin line of ice...but then he left for another flower...and you were left holding the snow shovel and ice pick...

nice imagery in this...

They do say opposites attract, which is true I think. We see something different and exciting, as they do, yet the excitement doesn't always last, or grows to irritation, then annoyance. I only speak of my personal experience, which fire and ice sums up perfectly. I'm just glad I don't have to put up with her ice cold feet in bed anymore :)
Enjoyable and thought provoking words, superbly written.
