Green gray handshake

Green gray handshake

A Poem by Leah Maldonado
"

This is based on a painting by savador dali...

"

I stand a lot
I lock my mind to yours like endless silent words
Crashing water like knives is only a reflection of green gray sunsets and---
Twin towers are reflections of me and you

I lock my mind to yours though endless silent words
Only the shadows can reveal your true shape and ---
Twin towers are reflections of you and me
At the horizon where the earth meets the wind.

Is where shadows reveal your true shape and ---
Birds only know what’s right and what’s true
At the horizon the earth meets the wind
Where the texture of abandonment makes me feel redundant.

I only know what’s been through the whirlwind
I stand to much
As the day inches closer I can close my eyes
Crashing water like knives is only a reflection of green gray sunsets.
Repeat.
Crashing water like knives is only a reflection of green gray sunsets.

there's so much in here that grabz a'hold of me,
the first four lines had me re-reading,
holding on to how deeply i felt the
echo behind the metaphor....
....always standing.

this is so cool.

It definitely feels like a Dali assault upon the eyes, but in prose. Nicely captured. My only nit is the 'twin towers' reference. Cheers.

A very original poem, especially the ending: 'Repeat'.
Just like a painting of Salvador Dali, this poem is brimming with originality, colour, and things which no one except the artist/poet really understand.
Good job!
