I Earned Your Forgiveness

 

I made many mistakes

Some mistakes made you feel lost

I stupidly made you pay a cost

A cost that you did not need to pay

 

Now I am filled with many regrets

I made you reach a limit that you did not need to meet

I made your world more bitter than sweet

I’m so sorry for bringing you so down, making you stare at your feet

 

Sadly I am stupid to a few things

One of them was how to treat you

I never meant to make you feel so blue

Forever I will be sorry to you

 

I like you for all the right reasons

Instead I piled all the wrong reasons onto you

You had two chances to say, “The Hell With You!”

But, you still chose to keep me in your life

 

At any rate, I am so thankful that you have forgiven me

I will make sure to speak much less about you

Just live on and continue to get stronger

I’ll make sure to stand behind you pushing you through

 

I hope that my words lead you to inner-peace

Thank you for still allowing me to be your friend

I swear to you it will never end
