The following poem that I wrote, is a dedication to President Obama. I wrote it during his Presidential Campaigning. It can be found on Barack Obama.com. Enjoy.

I Am...

I am a 30-year-old voter with a dream

A dream that strengthens after each speech

A dream of distinguished esteem

A dream that witnesses Mr. Obama practicing what he preach

 

I am a pair of tired lungs

Tired of breathing in the same political air

Tired of absorbing the current government despair

Tired and in need of the “Change We Need” air

 

I am a student who believes in Mr. Obama’s fight for education

Education is the driving force behind Change

Education is what all students strive for at every range

Education is not a luxury; it is a tool for real life preparation

 

I am a Communications Major who understands Mr. Obama’s message

A message of eloquence laced with undeniable truth

A message that flows smoothly through every ear passage

A message never contaminated by untruth

 

I am a pair of hands together in prayer

A prayer that believes Mr. Obama is the “Change We Need”

A prayer that knows Mr. Obama has genuine care

A prayer motivated by sincerity and hope without greed

 

I am an early voter who voted for the Obama and Biden ticket

A ticket that rings sense in a time of need

A ticket containing two names that resonates after each read

A ticket that I will never picket  

 

I am tear that will not cry for joy until Mr. Obama is President

A tear that is tired of dripping at the sign of struggle

A tear that yearns to flow in the atmosphere of change not trouble

A tear that screams, “Mr. Obama will be the next United States President!”

I hope everyone feels the same about him as we do... finally a smart president in office, here's to Obama, praying he has the strength with all that political drama. He definitely gives me hope, we can see it in the way he loves his family, there is no fire in his eyes for power. Great write, thanks for sharing.
