adrift

Cast adrift on a lonely sea

Waves of emptiness swell and ebb

Who am I? Where do I belong?

Questions circling overhead

Answers floating on the horizon

“Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink”

... Lamented an anguished old man

In a distant literary memory

But knowing not one’s albatross

Being surrounded by crowds, yet still alone

Reaching out is frustration personified

As others struggle to keep their own raft afloat

Alas, one must sail on, clinging to hope

That the sun will rise once again

Yep. You are welcome...:).....
Indeed. We must sail on and keep our hopes afloat. We must learn to navigate thosetreacherous waters that might sink our fortunes in the rough seas. Your analogy is marvelous as your words ring true. Excellent...:)....
