A New Year
Let's say farewell; to a chaotic year.
A year full of sadness, anger and fear.
From the raging, Australian wildfires,
and the many animal lives that were lost.
To the prominent appearance of racism;
and the life that it did cost.
Not to mention, the biggest threat,
that most generations, in this world, have seen.
A global pandemic, known as COVID-19.
A relentless, terrifying disease,
that took the world by surprise.
And we still continue today, see the death toll rise.
As we welcome the year 2021,
let's hope and pray that this chaos, is nearly done.
With a vaccine now available, to fight COVID-19,
the more people vaccinated, the less COVID will be seen.
If only racism could be treated the same.
By giving a vaccine and taking away the blame.
Maybe then, we would, look at people from the inside out.
So then we could see just what their lives were about.
Regardless of their ethnicity or personal preferences,
we all have feelings, which we need to use as references.
So let's move forward, let us all unite.
Let's try to keep the peace, rather than fight.
This is a new year, a brand new start.
Let's not let our differences tear us apart!
