We Will Survive

We Will Survive

A Poem by Pot
"

I wrote this poem when I was 19 years old a little over a month after the attacks on the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. Written October 30, 2001.

"

Never forget they say.

Never forget what happened that day.

Remember Pearl Harbour in 1942?

We survived!

Remember the Vietnam 'war' in the 60's?

We survived!

Remember the repression of our fore-fathers?

We survived!

After all the things that have happened,

We have survived!

Never once has anyone truly hit America.

America is a feeling each of its citizens holds dear in their hearts.

To rid the world of America you would have to rid the world of people who live within the 50 United States.

We have survived many things in the past and we are still standing as strong as ever.

Yes we WERE victims of a terrible crime of hate...

But now, we are survivors!

And we will survive!

Pot
So this is something I wrote in response to what happened that fateful day. What do you think? Be honest.
