In An Instant

In An Instant

A Poem by Darian J.

senseless direction
emptiness stretches
follow, you need somewhere
to go

shadow sun dial
presses on longer and longer
alone just means more
room to grow

i'm not saying it's
the road not taken
only hoping mine leads back to yours

the image
so ageless we bought and sold
and called it
and called it our
own before

a doubt in mind
flourished like eglantine
blooms full tonight
bursts open

our dance is slow
arranged but both
know atonements
coming

i don't want to hear it
don't want to hear it
when you get on your
knees and cough up
those secrets

that horrible truth
believed in an instant
faith for one
faith for one second
