It wasn't my fault that I lost him

It wasn't my fault that I lost him

A Poem by Althelia Marie Caine

How can you blame me for this?
How can you think that this was my fault?

Just because I wasn't strong enough to carry.
Wasn't careful enough to rest?

How can you tell me that I didn't love him?
How can you say that I didn't care?

I loved my Asher,
More than the world.

If anything,
you were the one to blame.

You weren't there for him,
Not once.
You didn't care for me,
When you should have.

It's not my fault,
Not really.
I loved that boy.
I loved him more than I could ever love anyone.
And you still say it's my fault that I lost him?

Our sweet little baby boy.

My sweet little Asher.

Author's Note

Althelia Marie Caine
Both dedicated to the man I love who hurt me so bad for blaming me, and for the sweet little boy that he and I created together, my little Asher.
If you had lived I would have spoiled you rotten. My own personal light. My Asher. Never let anyone say that Mommy didn't love you.
