Lost Rose

Lost Rose

A Poem by Althelia Marie Caine
"

"
This lost rose,
Once beautiful and graceful,
Wilts slowly away,
The cruel frost of Winter,
Draws the beauty slowly,
Out of silk, red petals,
A green leaf falls sadly,
From the once strong stem,
Left of this once beautiful rose,
The thorns of this dying grace,
Live to prick another stray finger,
Of an unknowing heart.

Ooh, well written! Good format, and great use of words! Great way of describing the death of the rose in winter. The last three lines are mine favorites.
