My Dark OblivionA Poem by Althelia Marie Caine
The sun sets on my shattered heart,
And I lay here alone, Trapped within this darkened oblivion, Shackled by my own loneliness, That you so carelessly bestowed upon me, Can you not hear my broken pleas? Do you not see the flood of tears that Stain my pale cheeks? No, my love, I know what you do not. Too blind are you to see the pain you have given me, Too heartless are you to care. You care not about the shattering of one lonely woman's heart, The melting of this broken woman's soul, I cry out your name, hoping that you might hear me, But deep down, I know that you won't come, You've closed your heart to me. You walk right past my darkened door, And act like you don't see me broken there, Shackled in My Dark Oblivion. Not so much as a glance do I get, From the last man I'll ever love. Lost am I without your love, Trapped. Alone. Within
