One child’s PleaA Poem by Pretty_as_a_Poetanother poem for Remembrance Day
When will the world know that you can’t fight fire with fire? That peace and love and all that we desire, Doesn’t come from wars that lasts for years, It doesn’t come from gunshots and it doesn’t come from tears.
I know if our soldiers didn’t go there to fight, For peace and for freedom and for all that is right, Our world would be in chaos, and anarchy will reign It would be a life full of suffering and a life full of pain,
Time withers away at the pain and the sorrow So people can cope with having a tomorrow, Without their uncle, son, husband or brother, But if you lose someone you love you can’t just get another,
Why can’t we have peace? Why do wars start? Can’t somebody else see my poor bleeding heart? I may just be a child, but I have something to say! Though one small person’s words can’t make war go away.
One thought warms my heart like a blanket of fleece This is my plea: Please let there be peace! Join up with your neighbors, hand within hand, United they fell, so united we shall stand! © 2013 Pretty_as_a_Poet |
