Alone

Alone

A Poem by Leon A. Walker
"

A poem about the burden of loneliness and the desire to love and be loved.

"

I am long weary in my blind search
You are not standing on my beautiful horizon
The place I’ve always imagined you
With rays of sunlight
Shining your path to me…

May the gods forgive me my imperfections
Might they find cause to reignite the light in my hopeful heart
I have doled out forgiveness in heaps abundant
Still I am left wondering if this solitude
Is a penance I must undertake
Or simply my own contrived confinement

Of all hearts in longing
Why are we selected for loneliness
I have tired of my search and the burden of gloomy isolation
There seems no rational conclusion
So I rest fitfully in the enduring hope
That perhaps you may somehow find me…

Poignant lovely write .love the lines.. Or simply my own contrived confinement of all hearts in longing.

The key to gracious beauty formed from pen is more than imagination but when that imagination is coupled with being well read it gives depth and texture. Truly a captivating piece.
