Morning

Morning

A Poem by Andrew S. Loveland

When next you go there

  carry me too, my love;

To the place where we lay

  pregnant; with anticipation

of the gathering morn.

Where duplicity lies furthest

       from our minds; and

  words left unspoken say more

rest here with me a while

  'til the watery dawn

dripping

            gold...

 from above

     ...calls us back home

"Pleasant" is what comes to me when I read this. It's genuinely soothing, which I appreciate. The images that come to mind are really dream-like and lovely. Thank you for this poem, I enjoyed it very much.

There is a calm to this, like a sleepy lullaby.
This is a sweet poem of protection and love.
