Phenomenally Inspired

This poem was inspired by the late Dr.Maya Angelou a powerful woman that wore many hats and left a legacy behind. Someone I dreamed of meeting and one day will...inspired by her poem Phenomenal Woman.

Phenomenal Woman you are wise

you possess the weakness 

that creates oohs and ahhs

you're a jewel that shines

from your mind down between your thighs

continue to rise 

and grow 

and know that you will be 

and are the explanation of a successful 

Nubian queen

phenomenally 

great 

force others to wake up

and turn their dreams into a reality

not become another fatality 

victim of stereotypes 

but rise and be phenomenally you

You are the beginning of a legacy 

there is much that awaits you 

if you could just remember who you are

baby girl you are the moon 

not the star

rise when others are dreaming 

rise allow your dreams to scream into existence 

rise and stop wishing

get off your rear and disappear into action 

allow the satisfaction of being royal to caress you 

make love to your mind 

become blind with ambition 

and re-event what it to have wealth 

that's knowledge that lies within yourself 

phenomenal woman 

you and I 

stay focused 

Rise!
