Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Lau Thiam Kok

If you never come
I will wither with the Fall
Go with the Streams
Increase with the Sea
Becoming Seasalt
Be delivered to your food
Everyday.

If you never come
I will age with the Sky
Be buried in the Meadows
Grow with Nature
Becoming a Tree
To protect you forever
Where I have been standing
Decades for You.

This piece to me shows greatness clothed in simple words.

Sadness - longing - wishing - dreaming - love - passion - humour - philosophy - poesy

This poem contains it all in only these few lines.
Wow - I'm impressed I admit.

Excellent work!

This is truly deep, great poetry...as Aristotle once said "at the touch of love, everyone's a poet." You have shown this statement to be true in your lovely lines of passion and pain :)

(Thanks to caffeine for sending this my way)

It pains me to read this.
Not because I'm waiting too but because I know that because I'm waiting without hope.

I like the way your words flow. It's very hard to potray deep emotions in such a simple, matter-of-fact manner. I like that very much.
