The Town

The Town

A Poem by Lauren

These tiny little people

In this tiny little town

Put up their blinders and

Look away with a frown

With that heavenly pride

Carried in each pocket

until needed,

Then pulled out with a sigh

At this tiny little world

They only see with one eye

Morality and judgement --

Two heads upon one beast

Come to visit once a week and

Begin to thank each feast

But the new neighbor is different

No one knocks on the door

Good riddance, so long

Doesn't matter

The master of the house is gone.

I am spell bound by the amazing rhymes.
I will come later to see bestial crimes.

I like it. It reminds me of a lot of the songs and artists that I'd listen to, singing and writing about hypocrites and zealots, the pretenses of "normalcy" ...
I like your take on these matters.

the narrator is seperated, possibly temporarily, from a civililsed fashion. To stay with living in this world she was to change but is unwilling of compromise and so removes. And that is the way Lauren should be! :)
