Easter Evening

Easter Evening

A Poem by Lauren

You put life in a box:

Absolutes.

Black or white.

Yes or no.

Wasn't that easy?

You don't think; you just speak

what you've always known,

believe it with all your heart.

Look how much you've grown.

Isn't that nice?

Isn't life grand

when the only view you have

is of someone else's plan?

I hear that you are BLESSED

all under His control...

but why are you always struggling,

when apparently you've been made whole?

I think I know.

Because life doesn't thrive in packages.

It has content, shapes, conditions

we'll never understand

even with your stupid premonitions.

And that's beautiful -- can't you see?

But you won't.

You're praising a false answer

of which you'll never know...

Sure, there's comfort in blindness, but

if you could try to face the fog --

that's where our real truths can grow.
