Muertos de Risa

Muertos de Risa

A Poem by Larry Dyson

Muertos de risas…

Dieing from laughter..

Black rose society…

Dia de los muertos…

Day of the dead…

Who honors their ancestors in this…

Manner …

but those who …

Have a ..history.

A depth of culture when each is remembered in total on a day of celebration... The poem says what it needs to say and very well.

just info on the Black Rose Society I mentioned here..not a political statement just mentioning those who honor the dead in their own unique ways..as in The Hispanic day of the dead celebration...here in the south of texas it is very prevalent and honored by the Catholic Peoples..."dieing with laughter" is a common phrase..hispanic life is known for incorporating the reality of death in living...they may die from their circumstances...but laughing all the way to the grave.A strong culture of Family and ancestors.

This brings not only an unusually phrased and punctuated poem, but, an insight into a ceremony or celebration i don't know .. hence I'll be learning something new today, thank you Laury!

Stay smiling, friend

Thank you for taking the time to write a piece for the group. I love how you describe the work above incorporating the culture that celebrates the day of this dead. I found this artwork stunning and beautiful.

of course that would work better. Im just addicted to lack of punctuation...another little hold out, but thanx.

I like the theme of your poem, but I have a suggestion regarding your punctuation. I think that so that you don't have such a long pause in between lines you may want to end each line with only one period except where you have the break on your last line, instead of the periods use a dash like "Have a-- history..." I'm adding this to my favorites. Lovely read.
