Calabash Squash

Calabash Squash

A Poem by Larry Dyson
"

entry for a contest...rhythm

"

Hip- hop jury swapped

Hippity- hoppity sequestered they stop

Bibity- bobity alone on the cobblestone.

falling in- falling over

The balcone railing and buckets pailing and hailing and

Scaling

The walls and ramparts the cannons were whaling

Moby dicking and schlicking the schlock of the clock… hickory dickery ..where is the Doc?

Blind mice made the move..up one "grandfather  side.

... and

Over the top .

Now wasn’t that a quainty dish to set before the Queens …

in drag

That interesting. I liked the use of the old nursery rhymes to throw a bit a creep in there... The pic of clown did throw me off though

Creative...fun and scary! The pic of the clown set the tone for me. But your mix of nursery rhyme......mellowed out the tone for me. Thus.....making me smile! :)

Understanding the assumptions - is the key to the broken lock... and loving the twists.

A clever write exploring the dark side of life and death. It has a exotic flavor to it that I can devour line after line.

oh the underpinning of attention to twisted detail is applause-able =)~ {i just made that up being notorious for sticking my tongue out at the rules that govern grammar ;) nursery rhyme edibles for the discerning creative uber adults~ the surreal quality and ever clever turns of phrase through the wide eyes of mother goose cerebrally goosed is absolutely divine!!!~ thank you for writing such a superb and original composition of mind candy for the contest!~
