One Foot Behind

Running out of time , one foot behind.

A very old saying and very old thought.

 

Did the thought come first

Or did the saying produce the thought.

 

Chicken or egg

I ve always thought that the egg was laid

 

So if God created the animals first

Were We behind at the

 

inception?

creation ?

the thought is always one foot ahead...time is the consideration of persistence of the material and the change of location of particles in space...thought is not really located in space and time...hence thought is always ahead...by at least a foot! So if one is essentially a "thought being" then he is behind if he considers it so, or he is ahead if he considers it so...if one is just a material being (body) then he will at times get eaten by the animals ;-)

philosophy aside, the essence of your write is stimulating and put simply and directly. Admirable.

I love the questions in the poem. It is a great thought and I think God created the chicken first. I think the thought inspired the saying as well for this quote came from a book. I the idea of the poem and it is amazing to see what our minds think when we read famous quotes from books or people. I like questions like that. To me the chicken came first, and thought came before the saying I call it natural order to things. Your poem is a riddle of sorts and that is what really makes it even more interesting. inseption or creation? I will leave that one to the religious minded since they seem to know everything. :)
