Inheritance

Inheritance

A Poem by Larry Dyson
"

quote from one holy book

"

The meek shall inherit the earth...

that means when all the bold die off

it goes by default to the ones who endured

battles ends...turmoil

fires

embers

dead or dieing.

thought provoking and along the lines of what I was momentarily pondering on yesterday- we have all inherited the earth; sometimes i start to strongly believe that the writers of the bible were poets and that each one like us is tapped into the divine - that going to church is not the house of god but attendance brings God in since a piece of the divine lives within us all....

i absolutely love personal twists on scriptures, whatever religion they're from...you sprinkled some chili peppers onto the thing without being irreverent...and poked our brains masterfully.

Mild of temper; not easily provoked or orritated; patient under injuries; not vain, or haughty, or resentful; forbearing; submissive......I can see why the meek would inherit the world in the end! Wow this piece is actually making me think here! You have the warriors who fought the battle yet when no battle was being fought what were there lives doing....to where the meek battle on a daily basis! Life's battle, one's who have endured! I really love this creation, really makes you think!

Oh wow!
This has reached into such depths within me!
And all shall falter but bravery be worn with courage...not fear..

Funnily enough, I watched a T.V. play last night and one of teh characters said: 'Ah. The meek. Cunning b******s. The play the long game.' Seems to tie in with your thoughts on them. I always do wonder what kind of Earth they shall inherit.
Good one.

Interesting twist on the scripture...not how i've thought about it in the past but that's the great thing about hearing other people's perspective isn't it...we all see and interpret things through individual eyes. Strong ending...nicely done. Thanks for your review by the way!

There is such a view of the world to come here.. those who stand through it all finding their inheritance... the blessings... So brilliantly spoken.

thought I would define the difference between Humble and Meek."Meekness differs from humbleness in that meek people give up something, perhaps a right or an argument to appear humble to others, & to prevent sometimes petty differences escalating into a greater problem disproportionate to the original issue. True meekness comes from a position of being 'absolutely correct whilst being aware' whereas humbleness implies a potential lack of knowledge or grasp of a complicated situation, but genuinely not wanting to offend anybody, for any reason at any time, in any way.In current terminology that equates to "submissive nature".
