Air

Air

A Poem by Laurie Lancaster

our thoughts

unseen and invisible

but there and real

the air we breathe in

breathe out

no restrictions

free by nature

light, scattered, detached

loose and wild

you can’t catch it

it fuels fire

melds with water

barely touches earth

the realm above us

in our minds

in the sky

the bird’s flight

the heavens

ideals of humanity

the stalkers, con artists

smooth talking

used car salemen

lying weasels

music, romantic love pleas

laughter

our best notions

our greatest ideals

thoughts create reality
