My Rose

My Rose

A Poem by Lauren Nicks

A rose
awaiting bloom
Though no light
to help it grow.
For the rose
in utter darkness
Anxiously waiting
to let its pedals show.
Its potential
quiet beautiful
Its layers
beyond grand.
But stuck
stuck waiting
Cold and lonely
feeling damned.

I love it
Hope you found the light by now
Hope the Rose had bloomed

That roe could be a metaphor for the heart that resides inside a lot of people. Cold and waiting to bloom. Beautiful poem.
