love letter to a poemA Poem by Laurel Colyeronly a poet could love this wayyou, material of an eon; you, the boldest and truest condensed to their atom; you, starskinned lantern of the damned; and i, desecrated yet unbridled, begotten of your influence. you, crafted from dirt bleeding dust on the page; you who tear at the foldings of the universe, you enraged and unsavoury; you floral, you genteel and petulant, elitist with your knowledge of the absolutes of nature; and i, unstoppable force, unmoveable mountain, i, steadfast in the gale and blind to the hurricane; i cradle you and the abstraction of your ribcage, the impossibility of your limbs; open your mouth and let stars take root amongst us, for we are nestled in their ocean.
