Growing Old (Advice to My Former Self)A Poem by Aurora KingsleyThis was for a writing assignment I had to do for school. Turns out, I really like it, and I truly can relate to it.Be wild! Be free! Stop worrying and show your glee! Is it hurt, or humility, or tears? Cry is you must! Let yourself weep! For life is too short to be thinking so deep. Let go of your pride and stop growing up! Get into trouble, and go! Test your luck. There's no need to be that, or him, or her. You are YOU and don't say another word! Be a child! Be a nag! It is what is and there's no need to lag. YOU are a treasure. A beautiful one at that! So stop being an adult and stop being so flat. You are full of life! But you just hide it away. Go and be curious and find the light of day! Afraid of being childish? But that is what you are! And no one should take that away so why do you scar? It's okay to be hurt! It's okay to feel scared. Now go and be free and don't worry about those stares. Now you are older and I see you have learned And that young child from back then is cast into the urn. Now you enjoy life even though some of it is gone, And you run wild and free and your weakness makes you strong! You are a happy girl; you are not
afraid to shine! You are fun and free-spirited; much unlike that girl, And your heart is not broken and now you search the world For all of the treasures that hide within its soul. And you know you are loved and you will never grow old Again.

Those two things speak to me in ways that no one else can, and I hope to make a career out of either one of those things. :) more..Writing
