The Ambush

The Ambush

A Poem by Laura Murphy
"

Just an overwhelming amount of emotions - positive and negative - which I couldn't explain in conversation.

"

True beauty comes from within.

It comes from the soul,

A vortex which can be seen by no one,

Yet is the component of the body

Which is the source of human emotion.

Something stirs within you.

A hurricane, perhaps,

Clasping the inner walls.

As an ambush of moths rises,

Releasing their moth breath into the air

Or flutter their wings like the wick of a candle,

Oblivious to their almost butterfly effect,

The feeling of uncertainty

And joy within

As the sun rises at dawn with a fresh ambush.
