Sleep

Sleep

A Poem by Laura Murphy
"

A friend of mine couldn't sleep one night and asked me to write a poem for them.

"

Soak in the silence

For those who can’t sleep at night

Must close their dear eyes

And shut out the light.

Blinding darkness,

The peaceful sky

Locked out the sun

Where the sleepless must lie.

Thoughts swirling through and through,

Scattering sights in one’s eyes

Gleaming with beauty and peace of mind,

Calling to Morpheus for help from the skies.

So as you lie among your sheets

Crumpled along with life’s affliction

Know that I am here only to say

Sleep is a beautiful break from the fiction.

Sleep is a wonderful thing and as you said a nice break from the frantic spinning of the world around us. Me being an insomniac wouldn't know much about it but when I do get to it's amazing and something I don't take for granted. I like the flow you have here and it all just works really well.
