For Her

For Her

A Poem by Cheyenne

I miss everything we used to have
I miss holding your hand
I miss the way your eyes used to shine
and the way you said that you were mine

But now all that's left is a scar
ever since the day we had to part
Why did you go
when I needed you the most?

You left behind
happiness that went for a mile
and your beautiful smile
You let go
everything I used to know
Everything we had
everything we were
and it was all for her

Author's Note

Cheyenne
I wrote this originally as a song oh, about four months back. I revised it and only posted the first two verses and the chorus so that it could work as a poem instead. I think it turned out much better this way than the way I found it written in my songbook.
