where we belong

where we belong

A Poem by Laura

you left a while ago,
but your scent stained my sheets,
and the warmth of your body lingers in the seams

i can still feel your body entangled with mine;
and the graze of my fingers tracing the small freckles on your back
or the way your skin would brush up against mine, every goose bump between us alive

i already miss the way your hand would graze slowly down my forearm
and finally settle gently in mine
or how the whisper of your words soaked through me, leaving behind a smile

more than anything, i want you to come back
so i can nap on your chest and feel your chest rise and fall
as i feel myself fall deeper and deeper for you

Much enjoyed this poem. It was the sensory quality you've captured so nicely...bob
